Achieving CALD Leadership in the Public Sector
Shaping the future of CALD Leadership in the Public Sector
The launch of the APS CALD Strategy has made it clear that increasing CALD representation is a priority across government. With several departments and lead agencies expected to submit their plans by June 2025 to include evidence-based actions into their Diversity & Inclusion Strategies, much work is to be done to implement and reach targets of 15% & 24% CALD representation at the SES level over the next few years.
To get there, it is essential that government organisations strengthen their cultural awareness and capability, and build on their diversity, create inclusive recruitment, retention and progression processes. This inaugural summit on 19-20 March 2025 in Canberra will be a critical platform for public sector leaders from both Federal & State Departments to explore and adopt practical strategies to drive essential change, dismantle systemic barriers, biases, cultural glass ceilings and inequities for CALD employees.
