About the session – Evidence-Based Management
Our postgraduate management programs integrate principles of Evidence-Based Practice in Management (EBMgt).
EBMgt is at the cutting edge of global business education, providing the groundwork for future leaders.
EBMgt involves the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of the best available evidence about and within business organisations for decision-making.
In this masterclass, you will learn the theory behind how to translate principles from best evidence to management practice.
Bias and error often contaminate managers’ perceptions and judgements, which guide and inform action and decision-making.
Learning EBM principles and skills helps managers engage in critical analytical thinking, improve their decision awareness, make decisions based on the best available evidence, and utilise more responsible management decisions and practices.
The aim of this session is to introduce the basic EBM principles and skills, and to understand how these skills can be applied to management practice, in particular people management.
This Lunch and Learn session will provide an insight to the emergence of EBM in the world of business.
The ANU currently offers a more comprehensive EBM teaching through postgraduate level programs for leaders and managers who want to:
- Enhance their critical analytical thinking
- Improve their research skills within an evidence-based management framework
- Strengthen their decision making quality and awareness by applying the best available evidence to a practical issue or problem.
