Preparing for the future workforce through scenario planning, workforce planning and capability building
According to the 2018-19 Federal Budget, the median length of service in the APS currently sits at 10.5 years, resulting in the most experienced APS workforce since previous years.
Yet with a federal strategy underway to maximise flexibility and develop digital skills and capability for the emerging future workforce, the APS must rethink their strategic workforce planning as a tool for effective business and long term growth. In a period where staffing levels continue to depreciate since 2011-12, and an ever-growing demand from the public for reliable service experience, forecasting to create a smarter and more productive workforce should be at the forefront of an organisation’s business strategy.
With this in mind, IQPC is proud to host the 8th Annual Workforce Planning for the Public Sector Summit. Returning to Canberra in 2018, this long standing event will focus on the growing need to embed Workforce Planning across a whole-of-business strategy to meet future workforce needs and respond to the changing automated and digital operating environment.
